Proper party planning tips to keep you out of trouble

It may seem like an obvious solution to host a party that doesn't include alcohol if you are concerned that your guests may risk getting in trouble or accidents in their attempts to get home. For whatever reason, if alcohol must be served or is highly preferred, there are steps you could take during the party planning process that your guests are likely to appreciate and may even increase the turnout. After all, haven't you ever declined an invitation because  you were concerned you may have too much to drink and the drive home would be difficult?

Issues with child custody

Divorce and child custody disputes can be difficult for both Virginia parents and their children. While the children need to know that they are loved and cared for, the parents may be too wrapped up in their own drama to always recognize this. If parents are not on good terms, one or both may not abide by the parenting schedule, which could put the children in a tenuous situation.

Will I permanently lose my license after a DWI conviction?

In the state of Virginia, if you are convicted of drunk driving, you may be facing severe penalties. These penalties can include incarceration and hefty fines. Driving while intoxicated is a far-reaching offense. In addition to the sanctions imposed after a conviction, your reputation can suffer substantially, affecting your relationships and future employment prospects. You can also be subject to license revocation or suspension. Losing the right to drive will result in a lack of freedom and hinder your ability in life-changing ways, from things as simple as the inability to run errands, to more significant impacts, such as the inability to travel for work.

A life-changing mistake can have dire consequences

A charge of vehicular manslaughter can have a devastating effect on your life and your future. When they get behind the wheel of a motor vehicle, nobody expects to end up hurting someone or causing their death. Nobody would anticipate that they'd be involved in a fatal drunk driving accident. This type of thing is understandably an excruciatingly painful event for the victim's family. It is also disastrous for the person who allegedly caused that death. Mistakes happen, poor judgment calls are made, but that doesn't mean you don't have rights.
